ANNOUNCES AN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

LIBRARIAN III - INTEGRATED LIBRARY SYSTEMS MANAGER

SALARY RANGE:  $50,065 - $60,860 in 5 annual steps

LOCATION:  This full time position opening exists at the Central
Library in Technical Services.

POSITION:  Under general supervision by the Manager of Technical
Services, the Integrated Library System Manager oversees many aspects of
the Library's integrated automation systems, and performs additional
work as assigned.  This position develops, proposes, installs, upgrades,
operates, budgets, and evaluates automated library services - in
particular the integrated automation system - as well as managing or
performing related training. This is a supervisory position.  Together
with the library's network manager, this position works under the
Manager of Technical Services to manage automation for the Library. 
Sonoma County Library enjoys a reputation for excellence in the area of
automation, and has appropriate levels of staffing and funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Normally, the following would provide the
knowledge, experience and ability to accomplish the above tasks and
responsibilities:  Graduation from a college or university approved by
an accrediting association of more then statewide standing, plus
possession of a graduate library degree from a school accredited by the
American Library Association, plus four years of professional experience
in a library or libraries of recognized standing; at least two of which
shall have been in a comparable position as manager of an integrated
library system.
