listservs for library events, etc.

Our library would like to offer the option of receiving library newsletters 
via email, but can not support this capability in-house.  Has anyone used a 
commercial service such as Community Letters 
(http://www.communityletters.com) or another service promising not to sell 
or give away patron email addresses?  Were/are you pleased with the service?
