[WEB4LIB] .US Domain

Although the .us domain is being opened to personal registrations, it appears that currently registered .us domains will not be subjected to domain grabbers, etc. The FAQ page at NameEngine.com states the following:

"What will happen to existing .US domain names? 

Existing .US registrants (domain name holders)
within the "locality space" will retain rights to their
existing Internet addresses. Existing domain name
holders should benefit from many of the operational
improvements and improved security and service
levels NeuStar has said it will introduce within .US.
If you have an existing .US domain, it will continue
to resolve. However, you should also consider
registering a shorter version of the domain during
the Sunrise or live registration period to make it
easier for customers to find you. Alternatively, you
can have an existing domain "point" to the shorter
domain."
