My husband and I team-taught a course in preservation at St
John's University for more than a decade. (We no longer do).
I have taught in other programs, now and then, and lectured
in them, and I was always favorably impressed with both the
energy of my students and the liveliness of the faculty at St
John's.
SJU's mission since its founding was educating the
immigrant population of New York. It is now building
dorms, and so attracts a wider population. But its mission to
immigrants is still present, and many of my students fell into
that category. It made for a very diverse classroom.
Good luck to you and your friend. GraceAnne DeCandido
