LIBRARY MANAGEMENT IN THE KNOWLEDGE AGE:
AN INTRODUCTION FOR NEW AND ASPIRING MANAGERS

leaders?

a business setting?
* What skills and learnings define an effective leader at any level?
If you are a new or an aspiring library coordinator, supervisor or manager,
or if you wish to update your management skills, this new OCLC Institute
course is created for you.
This two-day course, combining theory and practical exercises, is designed
to address the special situations faced by library managers. You will focus
on developing leadership skills while gaining useful tools for managing

* Other people
* The work of a unit or section
At the conclusion of the course you will:
* Know how to set personal and organizational goals
* Know how to manage your time effectively
* Understand how you and others make decisions and process information
* Understand how different management styles are required in different
situations
