FIRST CALL FOR PRESENTERS!!
Cross posted. Please excuse the duplication.
Please consider presenting at Dartmouth Biomedical Libraries' fifth annual October Conference for New England Librarians! The topic this year is "Web Usability: Does Your Site Work?" Scheduled for Thursday, October 25, 2001, this day-long event will be held at Dartmouth College in lovely Hanover, New Hampshire (an easy two-hour drive from Boston, Springfield, and many other New England locations).
Sarah Horton will be the keynote speaker. Sarah is an Instructional Technology Specialist in Academic Computing at Dartmouth College and is the highly acclaimed author of "Web Teaching Guide : A Practical Approach to Creating Course Web Sites" (Yale University Press, 2000) and co-author of "Web Style Guide : Basic Design Principles for Creating Web Sites" (Yale University Press, 1999).
We are seeking additional speakers. Have you tackled and solved Web usability issues, e.g., interface design, navigation, user testing, jargon and language, accessibility, or any other relevant issue? Would you like to give an informal presentation (30 minutes including question/discussion time)? If so, please contact one of us (by telephone or email) by June 29 - the sooner the better. (You don't have to have your presentation finished by then; you just need to be able to describe your presentation to us.)
We have had between 70 and 110 participants at each of our four previous conferences (please see
http://www.dartmouth.edu/~biomed/services.htmld/#conferences.); we expect similar attendance this year.
We hope to hear from you soon.
