downloading across floppy disks on Gates machines??

Folks,

We have a patron who would like to d/l a program that only just misses
fitting onto one floppy disk, using our Gates Foundation computers. I'm
trying to figure out a way for him to do this. (I know I can do it on my
computer in my office and hand the disk to him, but I'd like to find a way
other patrons can do this, too.)

We cannot use our favorite file splitter, Chainsaw, because it requires
that the target software be downloaded to the hard drive and then dragged
to the Chainsaw icon/button.

Does anyone know of any file splitting software that would allow us to do
what we want? There's a page of file splitters at
<http://www.williamlogan.org/FreewareIndex/FileSplitters.html>. Has anyone
used any of these successfully?

Thanks.
