stripping attachments

I want to go on record as supporting the new setup for the list.  Why are
people blaming Roy and the administrators at Berkeley for the behavior of
their own e-mail programs?  Can anyone tell me of an e-mail program that
does NOT allow you to send messages out in plain ASCII text format?  Even
Hotmail seems to at least send out both formats at the same time.
