Excuse the late reply, but I've been on the road with the Gates folks in
Virginia.

That was the case with previous versions of FrontPage, but 2000 *does* make
true thumbnails on the fly, generally about 2-3K in size. When you go to
save the file it will prompt you where to save the thumbnail, and names it
originalfilename_small.jpg or .gif
