Netscape 6.1 & proxying?

Can anyone verify that they are successfully using Netscape 6.1 for
proxied access to library databases? I know that Netscape 6.0 and 6.01
did not support proxy auto config files (*.pac) and this prevented our
patrons off campus from using those versions to login to our proxy
server. Supposedly, Netscape 6.1 has corrected this problem, but so far
we cannot get it to work. Any suggestions/observations would be
appreciated.
