REFERENCE LIBRARIAN (new position)
James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA

This position is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic librarian 
who enjoys reference and teaching and wants to play a key role in   
developing innovative library services and building relationships 
with faculty. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides reference and instructional services in 
both a traditional library setting and a new library service center 
on the College of Integrated Science and Technology (CISAT) campus. 
Serves as liaison librarian to selected CISAT departments. Works    
closely with the CISAT Librarian to develop innovative approaches to 
collaborating with faculty in areas of collection building, library
instruction, curriculum development, and research consultation. 
Collaborates with library staff in the development of web related  
projects and content. Position reports to the CISAT Librarian. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Accredited MLS; reference and instructional 
experience; strong knowledge of electronic reference sources; 
knowledge of collection development; excellent communication, 
interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills; excellent 
problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to apply technology to
a diverse range of library applications; strong public service 
orientation; ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a  
rapidly changing environment; and knowledge of markup languages, web 
design, and Internet search skills.
