video projector recommendations

Friends-

My institute is going to buy a video projector for Powerpoint, live Web and
other presentations.  We have a budget of up to $5,000, which should enable
us to get a higher level model.  Does anyone have recommendations for a
good make & model?  We would be looking for a balance of high resolution &
portability (emphasis on resolution).  

If anyone has bought one of these recently, please reply to me personally,
hopefully in the next few days <g>!  If a bunch of great recommendations
come back my way, I'll post a summary to the list.
