The Novi (MI) Public Library is currently accepting applications for the 
following position.

Position:	Department Head, Systems and Technology

Job Duties:	
- Analyzes, plans and implements technology program working closely with
	administration and library staff
- Develops and administers budget for technology area
- Recommends technology purchases for the library, develops bid 
	specifications and implements the purchase process
- Oversees administration of Novi Public Library's web site
- Oversees performance of local area network
- Trains staff on use of technology
- Analyzes evolving trends in technology in terms of appropriate
	application to Novi Public Library
- Supervises part-time technician
- Works with outside consultants as needed
- Assists public on public service desk approximately 10 hours per week
- Acts as Department Head in support of library operations
        
Qualifications:	
- Library Science degree from accredited ALA school
- Web site administration
- Experience working with NT server and other Microsoft operating systems
- Working experience with Microsoft office products and ability to teach
	others about their use
- Experience with Netscape and other internet related tools
- Experience with CD-ROM networking 
- Knowledge of pc hardware installation and troubleshooting

Salary Range:	$34,364.00 to $48,110.00, commensurate with experience

Hours:  37.5 hours weekly.  Two evenings, alternate Fridays/Saturdays and
	some Sundays
