LIBRARY DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking an individual to perform
system administration, upgrades, and enhancements to its
integrated library system: As a member of the Library &
Information Services Department, the successful candidate
will work with a team of information professionals providing
services to the Laboratory's 2200+ employees, including its
700+ scientists and engineers. Primary responsibilities
will include:
- System administration of an integrated library system
(SIRSI)
- Internal Library webmaster.
- With a systems support team, participates in the
development of interfaces between internal and external
resources and troubleshoots hardware and software issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- 3 years or more in a scientific or technical library
- Experience in the management of integrated library systems
(ILS) and electronic information resources.
Skills:
- Proficiency with integrated library system or database
management
- Ability to work in a PC and Unix environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with HTML, Oracle, CGI-script writing, shell
programming and web database interactions (preferred)
Education: Bachelors' degree required, ALA-accredited
Masters in Library Science preferred.
