Chris (and Elizabeth),

I guess I would be interested in hearing your goals for putting something to
inhibit access to your sites? It seems to me that such an approach would be
intimidating to the novice user and certainly inefficient to the return user.

Having an Access Policy is essential as a response to problem situations which
arise and publishing such a statement is also important for reference when
questions arise. I wonder, however, about the efficacy of implementing it as an
initial inhibitor. Just a different perspective...

Oh Chris, I found your implementation extremely problematic both in it's length
(no one will really read all that) and in it's fullscreen takeover of my
monitor. While I know how to blow up programs that I can't get rid of the normal
way, my father would be totally befuddled by such an approach...

Elizabeth,

I have developed an entry page that will require our patrons to click on a
red arrow indicating that they accept our policies before accessing the
Internet. We will be using this entry page as soon as the "long version"
of our AUP is ready to be placed on our web site. If you'd like to see it,
the URL is:

http://www.massillon.lib.oh.us/entry/entry.htm

I hope it helps you with your project!
