[WEB4LIB] Library Web Page Mission

Our library thought about using a web site mission statement, but decided
instead to simply use the library's mission statement for the web site, too.
Think about it - why should one specific area or function of the library
have a different mission statement than the rest of the library?

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Library Web Page Mission

These days most public libraries have a mission statement. I was wondering
if there are any web page mission statements in existence. How many folks
have created that.

In general, are public library web pages providing access to library
resources, events, and a set of 'reference links'?

Has any public library web page defined itself as a web portal or gateway?

I will summarize responses to the list if there is interest. Or it can be
discussed here.
