Web4Lib:

I performed a quick search on the Web4Lib archives and didn't find that this
has been discussed:

I am wondering what, if any, alternate names people are using for "database"
on their web sites. Our library is redesigning our site, and one of our
more heavily used pages is the databases page. For now we are calling it
"Searchable Databases." We include on the page links to any site that
provides an informational search function as a prominent feature of the
site. These could be both free sites as well as proprietary ones. Examples
include PubMed, Ovid, InfoTrac, Britannica.com, L-N Academic Universe,
WorldCat, USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, TOXNET, Boston
Globe, etc.

For the sake of increased usability, I am interested in hearing from others
who have grappled with the term "databases" and what your solution was for
your site.

Thanks!
