software audit tools

Hello,

I've been asked to conduct a software audit on about 40 workstations and a
cabinet of software and licenses assigned to these workstations in my
workgroup.  Anyone have suggestions for any tools that are better than any
others?  I'm prepared to create a database, preferably using the InMagic
software or MS Access.  Anyone have templates or suggestions?  I'd
especially like an automated solution.
