Electronic Resources Coordinator. University of Georgia Libraries.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and coordinates the ordering and renewal of electronic 
resources. Coordinates the analysis of technical specifications, contract 
criteria and business arrangements.  Maintains license agreements and 
related files and assures ready and current access.  Serves as 
departmental liaison with other departments to ensure public access and 
record maintenance (Cataloging, Reference, Systems, etc.).  Maintains 
currency in emerging issues in the acquisition of electronic resources 
and works with library groups considering issues related to electronic 
resources.  Fosters and supports a collaborative approach to problem 
solving and decision making, with emphasis on facilitating and providing 
resources. 

The Electronic Resources Coordinator reports to the Head of the Serials 
Department.  
The Serials Department is composed of 2 librarians and 12 support staff. 

The University of Georgia Libraries uses GIL, a statewide interconnected 
implementation of the Endeavor Voyager system, and GALILEO, a 
statewide online information system.  The Libraries spend approximately 
1 million dollars annually for electronic resources.  For a full

QUALIFICATIONS:

ALA-accredited MLS; Effective communication skills, ability to 
negotiate complex library license agreements; Demonstrated analytical 
and organizational skills; Experience with computer database and Internet 
searching; Knowledge of aggregators, database producers, vendors, and 
sources of electronic journals; Ability to function in a collaborative, 
service-oriented environment and flexibility in adapting to change; 
Ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships; 
Successful experience negotiating library licenses associated with 
electronic technologies preferred; Experience in the selection and/or 
acquisition of library materials preferred.

BENEFITS:  Standard benefits package includes life, health and

Salary minimum:  $30,000, commensurate with experience.  For
