I'm sure the wizards on here will give you some great answers
And there is actually a pretty good document on doing this on Microsoft's support site.

Since all you want them to do on these machines is access the Internet and one of your main concerns is getting rid of the START button --
One very basic step would be to run Netscape (or IE) as the shell.
This gets rid of the taskbar altogether.

The GOOD news is -- this is FREE (as are a lot of other tricks you can do)
The less good news is -- it involves editing the Registry -- which not everyone is comfortable doing.
And some of us who are comfortable doing it -- shouldn't be :-)

Subject:	[WEB4LIB] Using NT to lock down desktop?

. . . am a complete novice with NT and have been rooting around in the profiles
and ideally I'd love to get rid of the start button (I think it may be
impossible!) Does anyone have any experience using NT to lock down
everything BUT internet? I would be willing to switch security software
too at this point.

Any help would be much appreciated! I may even consider naming my
firstborn after you.

Thanks in advance!
