I've heard [not experienced] that 4.7 is buggy. However, 4.08 stand-alone --
which we use for our public Internet stations [the true test of a browser] --
has been very solid and reliable. I prefer it to putting out IE 5 [for which
I've had to download numerous patches to close up security holes] which we have
on a few machines. IE 5 is consistent and quick but very easy to muck around
with "favorites" and other silly windows that confuse users. My biggest
complaint is the bloated size of these browsers [esp. IE 5]. If
Netscape/Mozilla 5 can release a lean, standards compliant browser, they have
the opportunity to grab back market-share -- currently, 37% of users are using
IE 5 so there is still a large group of users that need to migrate to version 5
browsers.
