Yes, use Citrix Metaframe and NT Terminal Server. This allows for you to move
beyond the restrictions of the LAN (easy to launch application in a browser so
long as the software is still on the desktop, right? ) and serve PC/LAN
applications from within a Web browser, independent of having search software
installed on the desktop. Using Citrix and NT, you can serve up any
desktop/client-server application over the Web. windows sessions run entirely
on the server, making this a server-based solution. The desktop OS (Windows
NT) appears in the browser window. Full print re-direction is offered. We use
this set-up to deliver DOS and Windows based CDs to IIT library users all over
the world. All they need is a current browser.

btw: Cirtix Metaframe was designed for thin-client networks.

Good luck.
