linux on your public desktops?

greetings web4lib folks:
yesterday in one of these threads i suggested that inexpensive computers
running free unix, x windows, and built-in access controls would work
well in a public or lab computing setting.
for a writing project, i am looking to interview a library or
information center using linux to provide their user community with
internet access or other services at the end-user level.
nb this is different than the back-room, server side, where it is easy
to find linux or other free operating systems handling operations like
email, web, and firewall services for an organization.
anyone? anyone?
if you are already running some public linux stations (or tried and
failed, or are planning to roll them out) i would love to hear from you
immediately.
either way have a nice weekend!
