Communicator 4.5

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem 
I am facing.  I have been using Netscape Communicator 4.5 
successfully for some time now.  Suddenly, each attempt to open 
the program requests that I create a new user profile.  The user 
profile is still in the Netscape\User directory but is not recognized 
by the User Profile Manager. Any new profile I then create is saved 
to the subdirectory, but not to the Profile Manager and thus I 
cannot open the program!  Please let me know if anyone has 
experienced a similar problem or has any advice at all. Thanks.
