Discipline-specific Teaching Resources
http://www.ctt.bc.ca/edtech/OER/

A searchable database on the web that compiles, annotates and evaluates:
- annotated links to online resources in four discipline areas:
     - Culinary Arts
     - Business
     - Geography
     - English as a Second Language
-  descriptions of exemplary practices using learning technologies;
- annotated links to meta sites that include online teaching resources.

The website also provides information on how to build a collection of
web-based resources. It provides developers with:
- models that outline different methods for collecting, validating and
   annotating useful web-based resources;
-  resources required for developing a website;
- options for sustainability, scalability and site maintenance.

Partners
The project is a collaborative effort by the Office of Learning
Technologies, the Centre for Curriculum, Transfer and Technology and the
Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

The site was developed by two BC librarians, Ross Tyner (Okanagan
University College) and Annette Lorek (Capilano College). The collection
of annotated links has been reviewed and evaluated by four subject experts
from across the country. This website is a prototype. Once strategies for
validation, breadth and sustainability have been identified the database
may be expanded into other discipline-areas.

If you are interested in sharing discipline-specific teaching resources or
require more information, contact Amanda Harby, Centre for Curriculum,
Transfer and Technology <harby at ctt.bc.ca>
