Position Available
Librarian: Reference & Off-Campus Services
Genesee Community College, State University of New York, seeks a dynamic,
energetic librarian to coordinate reference, instruction and off-campus
services. An integral member of the library service team, this is a
leadership position in planning, implementing and evaluating the library's
user services including reference, information literacy instruction, and
services to off-campus sites and distance learners.  Other responsibilities
include collection development and coordination of interlibrary loan.
Qualifications
ALA-accredited MLS; excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
demonstrated strong organizational skills.  Highly desired: reference,
teaching and presentation skills using traditional and evolving
technologies; experience in the community college environment; demonstrated
strong commitment to excellence in providing user services; ability to work
cooperatively with a diverse college community; and ability to flourish in a
rapidly changing environment.  Post-MLS experience in an academic library,
and experience in providing services to remote patrons preferred.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full time 200 day position with faculty status.  Salary per
contract, minimum $29,162.  An excellent benefits package includes the
TIAA-CREF retirement system.
