advice on new webserver

We are looking to purchase a new web server to handle our library pages,
electronic reserves, forms, and a bunch of other library stuff.  I was
wondering if anyone has recommendations for both hardware (unix or nt) and
software (apache).  We are currently running using a small
Macinstosh/webstar for the server and are out growing it fast.  We are
interested in ease of use and setup,  speed, longevity, all that kind of
stuff.
