Information Technology Workgroup Manager: Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Palo
Alto

Hewlett-Packard Laboratories Research Library is seeking an Information
Technology Workgroup Manager.  The Research Library serves as both a test
bed and seed bed for new information products for H-P Labs.  H-P Labs is the
central research division for H-P, a world wide information company.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person will be responsible for creating tools that help scientists
capture, retrieve, and use information in a research setting.  The 6 person
team of IT engineers manage digital library products and services, full-text
document databases, and intellectual property databases.  The team also
provides cutting edge interfaces for delivery of third party resources to
the desktop.  The manager will be an active partner in the library
management team, helping to set strategic directions for the library of the
future.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

= An undergraduate degree in CS, MIS, or related field.
= 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience
and education.
= 3 years managerial experience.
= Experience with full text retrieval databases.
