TWO REFERENCE POSITIONS 
James Madison University, Virginia

(1) WEB SERVICES LIBRARIAN.  New position provides leadership and 
project management for web development. Serves as managing editor for 
the library web site, working closely with web authors, web 
maintenance coordinator, and systems staff.  Participates in 
reference desk service including some evenings and weekends.  Serves 
as liaison librarian to selected academic departments. Liaison 
responsibilities include outreach, library instruction, collection 
development, and reference consultation. Experience with reference 
and web publishing is required. Significant experience with web site 
development and thorough knowledge of trends in web-based library 
services is preferred. 

(2) BUSINESS LIBRARIAN.  Serves as liaison librarian to the College 
of Business. Responsibilities include outreach, extensive 
course-related instruction, collection development, and reference

College of Business. Participates in reference desk service including 
some evenings and weekends. Significant experience with reference and 
library instruction is required. Advanced knowledge of business 
information sources is preferred.

Qualifications: Both positions require ALA/MLS; ability to work 
cooperatively in a rapidly changing environment; excellent 
interpersonal and communication skills; teamwork and project skills; 
working knowledge of a variety of print and electronic resources; web 
publishing and desktop computing skills.

Benefits: 12-month faculty appointment. Minimum salary $35,000.
