The Texas State Library and Archives Commission is looking for someone
whose expertise is technology, but who can clarify these issues for the
non-technical librarian. Job duties include: 1) consulting with Texas
librarians (academic, public, school, special) on topics related to
library technology and, 2) implementing a continuing education program
in library technology and related topics. Areas of expertise may
include: public access catalogs, circulation, technical services,
catalog maintenance, acquisitions, serials control, authority control,
retrospective conversion, union catalogs, USMARC formats, media booking,
local and wide area networking, telecommunications, Internet, HTML
coding, and web page design.
