Hi Gang.
NewsEdge rarely looks for additions to our editorial staff because, frankly,
no one ever leaves once they sign up. But, I've just promoted one of our
Editorial
Specialists, and so we're looking for someone to join us.

The Editorial Specialist position at NewsEdge is somewhat akin to that of a
modern business librarian, although what we do is pretty unique. The tasks
include helping to determine which of our library of 2600 news topics is
appropriate for our business customers, some QA to make certain that the
work
done by our Editorial Review staff is staying on target, and working some of
the software levers and pulleys that keep the subject areas tuned up and
current.

You get to work with (what I would humbly suggest is) the finest team of
knowledge management professionals in North America, and you'll be working
at
a firm that continues to grow at 15-20% a year.

There's more, but I'm not a professional recruiter. I just work here.

I'd like to see someone who's worked in a business library/IRC, preferably
in the computer or telecommunications industry. An MLS would be a big plus,
but lacking one would not necessarily be a barrier to employment. (we're
looking at a pay range in the neighborhood of 30K)

I'm continually impressed by the intelligence and savvy I see on display on
the BUSLIB and SOLOLIB Listserves. I am certain that many of the
correspondents on these lists would be just the type of folks we'd love to
have come and work here. If you or one of your peers would like to know a
little
more about this position, would you email me directly?
