<layer>tags in IE browser

Hi all:

I developed a few webpages using <layer></layer> tags to define the layout,
which you can find at:
http://www.ne-optometry.edu/testdocs/presentation1.html. They look alright
in Netscape browser, but when I checked them in Internet Explorer4, they
are messed up. So I assume that IE doesn't support <layer> tags. My
question is: where can I find any comparing information between IE and
Netscape in regard to what kind of HTML tags they support respectively?
