Hello folks! It's that time of year again, time for me to grovel and beg.
Are any members of the California Library Association interested in working
at the Information Technology Committee's Internet Booth this November at
the CLA conference? If you are a member of CLA (the Calif Library Assn) and
are planning on attending the conference in Oakland, California this
November and want to donate a couple of hours of your time, please contact
me. The booth is open the same hours as the Exhibit Hall. You can choose
your timeslot.
I believe there will be five computers set up for Internet access. The
majority of usage has been for attendees to catch up on their email while
they are out of town. This has been done using telnet. A shortcut is
usually already on the desktop, so all users have to do is enter their name
and password and the location of their mail server. A piece of cake! We
have never had any problems at the booth that taxed anyone's ability to
resolve it.
If you are interested, you may contact me at lhyman at mail.sdsu.edu or leave
a message at 619-237-2020. Thanks.
