DETROIT PUBLIC LIBRARY
NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for design, implementation, maintenance, and
administration of the Main Library backbone work, wide-area network, and
agency LANs.  The Detroit Public Library utilizes TCP/IP networking and
Linux, Solaris, and Windows NT servers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science
from an accredited institution or equivalent experience; four or more years
experience managing UNIX systems in a TCP/IP networking environment;
demonstrated experience writing and maintaining Perl or Bourne shell
scripts; two or more years experience working with Windows NT Workstation
and Windows NT Server; demonstrated experience in managing a wide-area
network utilizing TCP/IP over frame relay, ISDN, or other links. Very
