JOB OPENING: REFERENCE LIBRARIAN





APL is seeking a full-time Reference Services Librarian with the following
qualifications:



a.. MLS Degree from an ALA-accredited school
b.. Public library reference experience desired
c.. Assertive customer service approach
d.. Extensive knowledge of current reference sources and services, in both
print and electronic formats
e.. Internet experience and experience with computer operating systems
f.. Experience with inter-library loan service helpful
g.. Familiarity with popular books and authors
h.. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
i.. Physical stamina and mobility to work within a large, multi-level
service area
j.. Leadership capabilities that support teamwork and innovation


Our Reference customer service includes ready and in-depth reference
functions using print and electronic sources, readers' advisory, and helping
customers in using computer resources and the Technology Center. This
position also includes inter-library loan duties.



Salary: Starts $25,230 year; excellent benefits included.

Hours: 40 per week, with varied schedule that includes some evenings and
weekends.
