I received a call this morning from a reporter at The New York Times Web
site. She is writing a story about programs in which kids are
teaching/training adults about the Internet. The Queens Public Library has
such a program. She is interviewing their librarians today. As I
understand it, the students are paid and are on hand to assist patrons as
necessary. (They wear special t-shirts.)
This reporter is looking for similar programs around the country at
libraries and at other venues (schools, community groups, training
facilities, etc.). Her deadline is tomorrow morning. If anyone has heard
of such a program or if your library is doing something like this, please let
me know. I will pass on the information to her. Please include a contact
person and a phone number if at all possible. Thanks for your help.
