Information Technologies Librarian
Cleveland State University Library invites applications for the position
of Information Technologies Librarian for an innovative program for the
development and oversight of the Library's program of services involving
information technologies. The major responsibilities are staff training
and faculty assistance in: database searching, software use, web site
development, scanning and digitizing, the creation of instructional
modules, and the teaching of information technology skills. Responsible
for monitoring and evaluating emerging information technologies and
serving as a staff resource person. Participates in patron assistance
which may include reference or instruction, may participate in collection
development activities. Serves on Library teams and contributes to
decision making; engages in scholarly, professional and service
activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited library school
Demonstrated skills in use of information technologies, such as Web
authoring and interactive multimedia Strong interpersonal and
communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
2-years work experience in an academic or research library Demonstrated
leadership in staff training or faculty assistance using information
technologies Advanced academic degree
SALARY RANGE: $31,000 - $35,000, rank and salary depend on qualifications and
experience
