Today the Arizona House committee hearing HB2456, which
would have required all public entities offering computer
access to employ Internet filtering software, voted 7 to 4
to take no further action on the bill. In its present form, at
least, the bill is dead.
Prior to the vote, strong testimony in opposition to the
bill was offered by representatives of the Arizona Library
Association.
The committee hearing the bill has a conservative-
Republican majority.
