ALIA Information Science Section presents 2 events in Sydney featuring:

ROY TENNANT  Project Manager, Digital Library Research & Development, 
             University of  California, Berkeley  

· Digital Libraries: a half-day seminar  
	issues and prospects 
	digitisation     
	metadata and indexing

Date: Thursday, February 5, 1998   

Time: 2pm - 5pm Registration: 1.30pm - 2pm    

Place: Metcalfe Auditorium, State Library of NSW,   Sydney    

Registration fees:   $80 ALIA members $90 non-ALIA 


· Web Technology: a one day Hands-on  Workshop  

This is workshop a designed for those who have knowledge of basic HTML tags 
and some experience. Topics covered include:  
	Web document style and design,   Web indexing   
	Web management (link checking, monitoring errors)  
	Advanced HTML  (tables, forms, and image maps)  
	Creating Basic CGI scripts for forms    

Date:  Friday, February 6, 1998    

Time: 9.30 - 4.30pm  Registration: 9.00 - 9.30am    

Place: Training Room 2, Level 1, Macquarie University Library, North 
Ryde, Sydney 

Registration fees:    $225 ALIA members $250 non-ALIA   

Places are limited to 18 participants: 13 PCs and 5 Macs. Please specify 
your preference when registering.
