Limiting browsers to specific resources

In an accompanying resource for a class I'm teaching, I linked to several
Web4Lib messages on the topic of limiting browsers to specific resources.
See http://www.albany.edu/~ks9888/risp623t/links.html ... follow
Workstation Security--Restricting Browsers to Specific Resources (sorry for
the lack of jump-tos--I admit this file is cranked from a Netscape bookmark
list--I edit the properties to include the comments).
Alas, I feel the paucity of this section... there's some good advice, but
it's fairly terse, and there's a noted lack of response from anyone
actually practicing what they preach (vs. "this should work"). Anyone have
anything new to contribute?
As a smidgen of a crumb to offer in return, those interested in workstation
security issues may be interested in the section of this file called Advice
from the Field on Workstation Security. It gathers together a number of
current resources on the topic. (Additional links welcome here as well..!)
In the actual course syllabus, I also cite several articles from volume
57-58 of Library Hi-Tech... for example:
Marmion, D. (1997). A commercial software approach to workstation security.
Library Hi-Tech, 57-58, 15:1,2: 21-23.
But the whole issue is very good--very useful, very readable!
