Netscape/IE Minimizing

I've had a very strange thing start happening when I try to minimize
either Netscape (4.5) or MSIE (4.0) using the minimize button at the top
of the window -- instead of minimizing, the programs exit. The only
thing I can trace the problem to is a change I made in the screen size
(went from 640x480 to 600x800). Any thoughts on why this is happening
and how to fix it?
