As you may be aware, the America Links Up campaign is asking libraries
to register their "teach-ins" and other Internet education activities on their
site at <http://www.americalinksup.org/register>. America Links Up has
developed a searchable database so that people can find out about
events in their communities.
ALA would like to remind you that America Links Up is a year-long effort.
We encourage you to register any Internet classes or related events
that you may be holding during the upcoming year, even if they do not fall
during Kids Online Week (September 14-20). This is a great opportunity
to show the leadership that librarians are providing in their communities.
America Links Up would need specific dates for these classes/activities
so that they can be sorted within the database.
If you need additional information about how libraries can participate in
the campaign, please visit the ALA Web site at
<http://www.ala.org/teach-in> or contact the ALA Public Information
Office at 800-545-2433, ext 5044/5041. A free poster/tip sheet is
available.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
