Java programming

Hello.

Does anyone have a recommended Java authoring tool they prefer?  I'm coding
in notepad
and compiling in Dos now.  

I do NOT prefer a WYSIWYG presentation but a quick code product.  Similar
to Allaire's Homesite for HTML.  I like doing the code myself, but hot keys
make editing and redundancy a snap.
