MAS OS 8

Greetings Everyone:

I was wondering if anyone else is using MAC OS 8.  

I have a question:

I am running OS 8 on a PowerMac 7200.  When I want a folder to open it
seems to take longer to display the information  in that folder.  Is
there a preference that I can change to make it display the information
quicker?  It seems like OS 8 would run faster not slower.
