Electronic Resources Coordinator, 
Arlington Public Library, Arlington Texas.  

Opportunity to develop a new position within the library system.  Will 
report to the Library Director.  Responsible for budgetary 
recommendations, collection development for electronic resources, 
negotiating license agreements, training staff and preparing training 
materials, managing the library's Internet service, integrating electronic 
resources and services into the library's reference services program, and 
providing reference desk coverage including evenings and weekends.  
Serves on the library's Collection Development team and the Administrative 
Council.  Will work closely with the library's Computer Systems 
Specialist to determine long-range technological needs for the library.  

Requires experience at a public library reference desk, experience in 
resolving software and hardware problems associated with PCs, 
knowledge of CD-ROM and other electronic products suitable for 
public library clientele.  Must have ability to communicate complex 
technological concepts to staff and public.  Applicants chosen for 
interview will demonstrate expertise in solving elementary PC 
operational problems and ability to successfully conduct searches 
on the Internet.  

Position requirements: MLS degree and/or Information Science and 
two years professional experience in a public library.  Arlington is a city 
of 300,000 population located between Dallas and Fort Worth with a 
Central Library and four branches.
