benefits of Internet access?

Could anybody point me to any  studies, or give examples of how the
accessibility over the Internet translates into tangible benefits
(including economic) for:
a) libraries (increase in ILL requests and circulation after OPAC or
full-text documents became available over the Internet, amount of patrons
visiting the library after a Web page has been put up, etc.)
b) other cultural heritage organizations, such as museums, archives, etc.
c) local communities in general (growth of tourism, business activity)
