audio instruction

Has anyone tried using a variation on the audio self-guided tour for
introducing people to computers and the Internet? With ears listening to 
the taped guidance, eyes on the screen, and hands on the keyboard, a
person might be led through exercises and examples to get started. I would
be interested in news of any practical experience with this idea or
reaction from library staff involved in teaching the public.
