Kermit for Netscape

We are using MS DOS Kermit (version 3.14) with our character-based
menu system to script telnet sessions (e.g., FirstSearch, OPACs,
etc.). We use Trumpet telnet with Windows for Workgroups running
Netscape 2.X.

We wanted to move Kermit over to Netscape as the telnet application
so we could keep the same functionality we now have with our Kermit
scripts. However, we found that MS Dos Kermit can not run with
Winsock.

Two questions:

1. Is there someway to overcome the Kermit/Winsock incompatibility
in Netscape?

2. If we need to give up on Kermit, which Windows 3.X telnet
programs do you recommend with scripting capabilities like Kermit.

PS. We are an Innovative Interface site and face additional telnet
problems with laser printers.

Thanks.
