Many years ago there was a court case that determined that you can alter
software you legitimatly have all you want for your use. You just cannot
distribute the modified code without permission.
ResEdit is a great program for modifying Mac files and its free unlike the
similar expensive Windows programs. With it you can make many menu options
unavailable. Hum perhaps a how to do this article would be a good for the
BMUG newsletter or a library journal.
