Word ate the top of my webpage

Each of the wysiwig programs have there own meta tag that they stick at the
top. I think they do that in part so that they can track how many people
are creating their web pages with their software. A bot can go out and
search the web for their metatag. This way the company can claim how many
thousands or millions of pages are created with their program. Unless you
actually look at the code on the page then you would never know it is there.
You might want to check other things on your page as well because sometimes
other tags or special characters can be handled differently.
I don't know if you can turn that off. I don't think the people who wrote
the program want you to turn that off. If I don't want those tags I
generally delete them from the actual code. But know if you open up the
page again with that program the tags will be put back.
bye,
Ed Bierman
